Invites Applications for

EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS SCHEME FOR 2013-2014

FOR THE ECONOMICALLY WEAK SECTIONS AND PARTICULARLY THE MINORITIES IN INDIA

AEEF announces the Excellence in education through scholarships scheme for 2013-2014 to bring about a transformation in the lives of academically brilliant and economically underprivileged students.

An important element of AEEF is its scholarship program. 50 meritorious and economically weak students will be supported across India. The scholarship will be awarded to students at any academic level after passing high school in any area and at all levels of education. Selection of students is based on merit-cum-means. The actual amount of award will be determined based on financial need of the student (upto Rs. 1200/month for 12 months). An initial commitment is made for one year, but the recipients are given to understand that they will be supported to the highest degree level as long as they perform well, still in need of financial assistance and the funds are available at AEEF. Any substantial financial aid from other sources precludes the award of this fellowship.

To qualify for the scholarship a student should meet the following eligibility requirements:

Academic Requirements

1)

Highly Meritorious & Economically Needy (Min. Average marks 65%)

2)  Applicant should not be in receipt of any Scholarship/Financial Aid of more than Rs.300.00 pm from any other source.

General Requirements

Applicants with parental income below the poverty line (BPL), duly supported by the relevant documents, and good academic potential will get the highest priority. A few applicants with parental income above Rs. 1,00,000 per year may be considered only if their marks are above 80%.

If you are studying in India and have passed your Board Examination from a Government or Government recognized school and fulfill the academic and low family income conditions stated above, you should apply to AEEF with the particulars in the application form latest by February 10, 2014. No applications received after the closing date will be considered. Successful candidates will be invited for interview by a facilitator in some major cities across India and scholarship awards will be announced by March 15, 2014.  All decisions by the selection committee are final.

Selected candidates can expect to continue receiving the scholarship for each subsequent academic year in their course of study provided they continue to meet all Academic and Family Income requirements and furnish proof of the same every year.  If this information is not received on time the scholarship may be discontinued.

Further information about the Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) may be obtained and application forms could also be downloaded from the website: www.aeef.us.
