Aligarh Education Endowment Fund
The Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) has been established for the enhancement and modernization of education, and improvement of educational opportunities for the underprivileged sections of the Indian society, especially the minorities. This should result, in the long run, in economically uplifting these groups and helping them to become productive members of the Indian society.
Background
Recently, India has taken major steps in formulating and implementing plans to educate her masses. The Right to Education Bill of 2005 (many folds more extensive and encompassing than the No Child Left Behind initiative in the US) not only extends the opportunity of a good education to all but also mandates it. In this bill the parity of education amongst the genders is also promoted and targeted. The government has made the education of the disadvantaged group of minorities a national priority. The focus is on bringing the educationally backward minorities at par with the rest of the society and to make them participate fully in the national development.
The purpose of the AEEF is to provide assistance to, and seek funds for, minorities in India for upgrading their educational standards and infrastructure.
Philosophy
As is generally accepted today, human resources are the most important element for the strength, prosperity and well being of a people, and then education in its widest sense – scientific, technical, humanitarian – plays the most important role in creating the right type of human resource for this purpose. Our goal is not only to turn out qualified professionals for jobs, but also to inculcate in our people the ability to understand new and emerging problems, and to think analytically and creatively for their solutions. For these people to attain their proper status in the world, we must produce intellectual leaders.
Our challenge is to overcome the above hurdles and to provide them opportunities for education to underprivileged communities in India. Our goal is to meet these challenges through Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF).
Incorporation
The Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) is incorporated in the state of Delaware, USA. AEEF was granted a tax-exempt status, 501(c) (3) designation, by the United States IRS in 2005 with the Tax ID# 20-1000034.
