Why We Established HUNAR GHAR

In Aligarh, many women—including widows, divorced women, illiterate homemakers, and low-wage laborers—struggle to generate income for their families. Our surveys identified over 360 women in neighborhoods like Shehenshabad, Humdard Nagar, and Patwari ka Nagla facing livelihood challenges.

HUNAR GHAR was established to equip these women with practical vocational skills—tailoring, garment making, embroidery, and machinery handling—enabling them to earn a sustainable income and combat poverty and unemployment.

Who Benefits

Our primary beneficiaries are underprivileged women seeking financial independence. Additionally, unskilled female laborers working in applique design, handicrafts, and boutique industries—often underpaid due to lack of skills or financial literacy—also benefit from our programs.

Training Programs

HUNAR GHAR offers the following training programs:

  • Skills Training: Advanced stitching, embroidery, applique design, and handicrafts to help women secure fair-paying jobs.
  • Occupational Training: Focused sewing skills to prepare women for specific employment roles, such as tailoring.
  • Career & Technical Education (CTE): Functional literacy and academic skills for illiterate women.
  • Trade Schooling: Hands-on trade education, including marketing and business knowledge.
  • Apprenticeship: On-the-job training post-skilling to gain real-world experience.
  • Technical Education: Industrial, mechanical, and digital literacy skills for modern trade opportunities.
